Join Harter Secrest & Emery and Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. LLP for a discussion on the long-awaited final opportunity zones regulations that were recently promulgated.

Created as part of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, Opportunity Zones are low-income census tracts designated by the governor of each state. Taxpayers that invest Opportunity Zones can significantly defer, reduce, or even eliminate federal capital gains tax liability.  

Released in late-December of 2019, the final Opportunity Zone regulations greatly favor investors, developers, and businesses seeking Opportunity Zone benefits.  We will take a deep dive into the final regulations, including what requirements were clarified and how to navigate the new rules.
