Over the coming months, the COVID-19 vaccine will be rolled out and become readily available. Wanting to ensure a safe environment for its employees, many employers are wondering whether they can and should require employees to undergo vaccination as a condition of continued employment. The EEOC weighed in on this topic by providing updated guidance on the steps employers must follow if they decide to mandate vaccination.
While this guidance is helpful, requiring vaccination is not just a discrimination issue; it implicates potential concerns under a variety of employment laws. Join our discussion to receive practical guidance on this timely issue, including:
- Recap of Applicable Guidance
- Employer Position on Vaccination- Require, Encourage, or “No Comment”
- Accommodation Issues - Medical and Religious; Special Populations
- Safety Issues - OSHA and Workers’ Compensation Liability
- Section 7 Rights - Concerted Activity
In addition to covering vaccinations, we’ll also review the employment-related portions of any new stimulus bill, provided details are available.
