How often do we interact with state government? Many of us have advocated for support for our favorite not-for profit, attended a fundraiser, or expressed concern to our friend, the local Assembly member, about how a proposed bill could impact a client’s business operations. A significant body of law addresses lobbying, campaign finance, and other aspects of these sorts of interactions. Join Assembly member Jen Lunsford and John M. Jennings, a partner in Harter Secrest & Emery’s government affairs group, for a discussion about some of the basic concepts that will help you to stay out of trouble when dealing with New York Government. In addition, Jen and John will discuss the practical aspects of effective advocacy.
