The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (“ARPA”), signed into law by President Biden on March 11, 2021, is vast and difficult to digest, but has significant and immediate impacts on employers. Members of our Labor and Employment and Employee Benefits teams will discuss some of the most important developments for employers stemming from the ARPA, including:
- Incentives to continue paid FFCRA leave
- Fully subsidized COBRA coverage
- Extension of federal pandemic-related unemployment programs (including PUA and PEUC)
- Other impacts on employer-sponsored benefits, including amendments to dependent care assistance programs.
