HSE partner and leader of the firm’s Tax group, Joshua E. Gewolb, was featured in a recent Bloomberg Tax – Daily Tax Report article titled, “New York Quickly Drops U.S. Virus Relief on Tax Write-Offs (2).” The article focuses on New York becoming the first state to decouple from a provision in the federal virus response package that temporarily relaxes limits on business interest payment deductions.

In the article Josh explains, “The state faces ‘a gaping and growing budget gap’ from the crisis, and New York simply cannot afford an expanded interest deduction.” Click here to read the article on the Bloomberg Tax website.
