Buffalo Business First

John G. Horn, Partner in Charge of our Buffalo office, recently contributed an article to Buffalo Business First’s Small Business, Big Mission Special Report. In the article titled, “Leading Businesses Towards Brighter Days,” John described our “all-hands-on-deck” response to helping clients tackle coronavirus challenges. Here is the article content as published in Buffalo Business First:

The coronavirus outbreak brought business across the country to a screeching halt. True to our community’s spirit, we have seen Western New Yorkers meet this challenge with teamwork, innovation, and grit. To help, Harter Secrest & Emery immediately deployed an “all-hands-on-deck” response, with attorneys from multiple practice areas collaborating to address an array of novel concerns. Not only did our clients have labor and employment questions, and wonder how things like PPP would work, but with many employees shifting to remote work, there were cybersecurity matters, employee benefits questions, immigration challenges, commercial real estate disputes, pressures on construction and manufacturing, tax quandaries, and myriad other operational and even existential concerns, all with answers needed ASAP! We’ve been honored to partner with our clients to weather this unprecedented storm and plan for an unprecedented rejuvenation. The strength of Western New York has always been the quality and diversity of our people. We are confident that we will emerge from this experience stronger and more grateful for the brighter days ahead with colleagues, family, and friends.
