F. Paul Greene, CIPP/US, CIPP/E, partner and chair of our Privacy and Data Security practice, was featured in a recent Buffalo Business First article titled, “New Data Privacy Laws for Doing Business in Canada Could Soon Be in Play.”  In the article, Paul described an update to Canada’s privacy laws with the introduction of the Digital Charter Implementation Act that is expected to strengthen governmental regulation of businesses handling and processing private and sensitive data, including those from outside the country doing business there.  He states, “I think the lesson to be learned from looking across the border is that these laws are changing, expectations are changing and regulators are trying to keep up with what consumers and others expect organizations to be doing with their private data.”
