Brian M. Feldman Featured in Medicare Compliance Commenting on False Claims Act Settlement

Brian M. Feldman, partner and chair of the firm’s Government and Internal Investigations practice group, was recently interviewed in Health Care Compliance Association’s Report on Medicare Compliance newsletter in the article titled, “Prime Healthcare, CEO, Cardiologist Settle FCA Allegations Over Payments for Referrals.”

The article discusses Prime Healthcare Services’ $37.5 million False Claims Act settlement over allegations of paying a physician based on referrals, submitting false claims for implantable medical devices, and billing for services of a physician whose Medicare privileges had been revoked.

In the article, Brian provided insight on the limits of what can be achieved through corporate integrity agreements.  He also offered a reminder that providers should consider all government health care programs in identifying potential overpayments and not limit their efforts to Medicare and Medicaid.
