HSE labor and employment partner, Robert C. Weissflach, was recently interviewed in an article by Buffalo Business First titled, “Employers Should Prepare a Process for Vaccine Exemption Claims.” The article discusses the status of federal vaccine mandates and the potential legal challenges that employers may face soon regarding medical and religious exemptions. Rob stated that it is important for employers to follow an interactive process to help avoid litigation. “What they should do is establish and follow a process for addressing medical or religious exemptions,” he said. “The process itself is your defense.”
