Luke P. Wright Featured in Rochester Business Journal Article on Vaccine Mandates

Wright Luke 2018 081 HR PrintBioLuke P. Wright, partner in our Labor and Employment practice, was recently featured in the Rochester Business Journal article titled, “Many employers caught between the vaccine and a hard place.” The article discusses the dilemma many employers face when considering mandating the COVID-19 vaccine. Luke shared some of the questions employers are asking themselves and their attorneys such as: what should we do about vaccines? should we consider mandating them? if we’re not going to mandate them, should we be asking people if they are vaccinated? should we be requiring employees to demonstrate vaccination status by showing their card or the Excelsior Pass or something else, etc.? He states, “You’re definitely allowed to ask about vaccination status as an employer. Where you could get in trouble is sharing that information that comes in response or following up with, oh you’re not vaccinated, why not?”
