Real Estate Investment Market May Look Different Post-COVID-19

Margaret K. Rhoda, an associate in our Securities and Capital Markets practice group, was interviewed in a recent Rochester Business Journal article about the current Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) market titled, “Real estate investment market may look different post-COVID-19.”

In the article, Margaret described a way to determine the health of a REIT during the COVID-10 crisis is to look at how the tenants are faring.  “Think about what the tenants are facing,” she says. “That should give you information on how a REIT will react and the steps that they may need to take.” Margaret continues, “More facts — and more time — are needed to see how the REIT market lands post-COVID-19, but the same trends the market has seen over the past few years will likely continue to do well.”
