The Employment Law Crystal Ball: Some (Hazy) Predictions for 2024

In a recent article published by the Rochester Business Journal, HSE partner Ben Mudrick gives a speculative glimpse at what’s in store for employment law in 2024. Upon looking into his “crystal ball” Ben predicts a revised New York State non-compete ban with exemptions, unexpected union elections in new sectors, and a rise in contentious workplace discourse. The crystal ball also foresees new mandates in the state budget, while major federal employment laws are unlikely due to political divisions.
