Brennan Sarah 2012 051 HSE 1859 PrintBioHarter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, announced that Sarah H. Brennan has joined the firm as counsel in the Securities and Capital Markets practice. 

Brennan’s experience includes representing public and private companies, venture capital and private equity firms, and investors in every stage of the corporate life cycle. She advises companies on SEC reporting, capital raising activities, a wide range of corporate transactions, corporate governance and compliance issues, and other general corporate and securities matters.

Over the past several years, Brennan has counseled clients on securities and regulatory issues in the blockchain and fintech sectors. She has advised on a broad spectrum of projects in the space, participated in cryptocurrency industry panels, and published thought leadership articles.

Before moving to Western New York, Brennan practiced with Mayer Brown in New York City and in Washington D.C. and Latin America for a global microfinance institution’s Office of the General Counsel, concentrating on domestic and cross-border banking, corporate finance, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. She most recently was a partner in the corporate and securities group at Lippes Mathais Wexler Friedman.

A cum laude graduate of The George Washington University, Brennan earned a law degree, cum laude, from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
