Mauro has been elected president of The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes board of directors for a one-year term.

The ARTS Council is a multi-county arts organization that works to enhance quality of life in the communities it serves through the direct and indirect support of the arts. The organization grants state and local funds to artists, arts and cultural organizations, and schools to help increase arts programming and opportunities for the public regionally and statewide. In addition, The ARTS Council is committed to increasing public awareness of and access to the diverse folk arts traditions of the Southern Tier, advocating for arts education, and increasing the awareness of the important economic role the arts play in the Southern Tier and beyond.

Mauro is currently in her third year as a board member, and served as the board’s vice president last year. As president, she will work closely with The ARTS Council leadership, as well as lead the board’s Executive Committee.

An attorney with considerable background in environmental compliance and litigation, land use and zoning law, and energy law, Mauro is partner in charge of the firm’s Corning office. She was named the Best Lawyers® 2015 Land Use and Zoning Law “Lawyer of the Year” in Rochester, and was selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in the fields of Environmental Law, Land Use & Zoning Law, and Land Use & Zoning Law Litigation. She has also been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers® since 2013.

In addition to her role with The ARTS Council, Mauro sits on the board of directors of the Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development and the Three Rivers Development Corporation. She is currently the chair of the Corning Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Council, and is an active member of the Chemung County Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs Council and the Women Presidents’ Organization.
