Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, announced that Kyra Tichacek Keller has been promoted to counsel in the firm’s Litigation practice.
As an intellectual property and commercial litigation attorney, Keller represents individuals and companies of all sizes in disputes relating to trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, patents, unfair competition, noncompetition agreements, antitrust claims, alter ego and successor liability claims, and other contract and business disputes. In March, she played a leading role in a federal jury trial in the Eastern District of Texas, representing a telecommunications technology plaintiff in a case against China-based telecommunications giant Huawei Technologies alleging misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of a non-disclosure agreement, fraud, and joint inventorship of a patent. Among other things, Keller successfully argued against the defendants’ motion for summary judgment, worked closely with plaintiff’s technical expert, and directed the important examination of plaintiff’s chief technology officer before the case settled following the first week of jury trial.
Keller has successfully litigated cases in state and federal courts around the country, including in New York, Florida, Minnesota, and Texas. In addition, Keller has experience representing clients in government investigations, including those involving the Federal Trade Commission, the U.S. Department of Justice, the Office of the New York State Attorney General, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Keller also provides litigation risk counseling and advice relating to legal ethics and professional responsibility.
Keller joined Harter Secrest & Emery in 2013 after working at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in New York City, and most recently served as a senior associate. She is a graduate of Cornell University, and received her law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
