Harter Secrest & Emery LLP (“HSE”), a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, is pleased to announce that Caitlin A. Anderson has joined the firm as an associate in the Government Affairs practice group.
Anderson counsels clients regarding the nuances of New York State government, including lobbying and liaising with the Governor’s office for clarification on legislation, regulatory actions, and executive orders. She develops short-term and long-term legislative plans, drafts and arranges for the introduction of bills, advocates to secure or modify legislation and administrative action on behalf of clients and represents clients through dealings with state agencies—from negotiating regulations to defending clients in administrative hearings.
Anderson received her B.S. degree, summa cum laude, from Elmira College, and her J.D., summa cum laude, from the William & Mary School of Law.
The firm’s Government Affairs team advocates for the introduction of bills, tracks the progress of proposed legislation and regulations, and lobbies to secure or modify legislation and administrative action on behalf of clients. In addition, they advise on the availability of, and access to, a variety of government funding mechanisms and other programs, and work with clients to ensure the strictest compliance with all applicable laws.
