Most recently with Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale, & Dorr in Washington, D.C., Schwalbe has represented clients facing government investigations. An experienced litigator, she has defended clients in both trial and appellate proceedings. Schwalbe has substantial experience dealing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, among other agencies. A native of Fredonia, Schwalbe earned a Bachelor of Arts from Boston University, and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.

The firm’s Government and Internal Investigations practice group includes a core of former government attorneys and prosecutors. Carol E. Heckman, a former federal magistrate judge, Assistant U.S. Attorney in Buffalo, and Justice Department trial attorney in Washington, D.C., leads the practice group with Brian M. Feldman, former Senior Litigation Counsel in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan. Other former government attorneys in the group include Jeffrey A. Wadsworth, former Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General in Washington, D.C., and Erika N. D. Stanat, a former Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army JAG Corps.
