Amy J. Kellogg and Erika N.D. Stanat Appointed to Leadership Positions at Harter Secrest & Emery LLP

Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, is pleased to announce new leadership appointments. Amy J. Kellogg has been appointed as partner-in-charge of the Albany office and Erika N.D. Stanat has been named lead of the firm’s Commercial and Intellectual Property Litigation practice group.

Kellogg Amy 2019 ALB 6013 HRKellogg’s Government Affairs practice focuses on representing a variety of New York State professional associations, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations before New York State government, including the New York State Legislature, the Governor’s Office, and state agencies. She monitors, analyzes, and reports on the status of pending legislation, advises clients regarding myriad government relations compliance issues, communicates clients’ positions to members of New York State government and state agencies, drafts legislation on behalf of clients, and assists clients with strategy regarding government funding mechanisms and programs.

Kellogg earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Potsdam, and is a cum laude graduate of Albany Law School. She received the 2018 Donald D. DeAngelis ’60 Excellence in Alumni Service Award from Albany Law School, is a member and past chair of the Government Affairs Practice Committee for the American Bar Association Business Law Section, is a member of the Standing Committee on Government Affairs for the American Bar Association, serves as a board member for the National Association of State Lobbyists, and as Vice President of the Potsdam College Foundation.

Stanat Erika 2010 014 HSE Roc 0133HR 8X10Stanat counsels clients in the protection of their intellectual property, representing them in lawsuits in state and federal courts relating to patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. In addition to her work in IP litigation, she represents clients in commercial disputes and in litigation concerning tax, employee benefits (ERISA) and executive compensation issues. A former active-duty officer and attorney in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGC), Stanat also currently serves as a mediator on the mediation panel for the United States Federal District Court for the Western District of New York and as a member of that Court’s Local Rules Committee and its Local Patent Rules Subcommittee.

A graduate of The Dickinson School of Law and Bucknell University, Stanat has been recognized by Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America© for her work in Commercial Litigation and Litigation – Intellectual Property. She is a recipient of the Daily Record’s Top Women in Law Award, the Rochester Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Award, and the Volunteer Legal Services Project’s William McKnight Award for Pro Bono Service. Among other community and volunteer endeavors, she serves as a Trustee of Bucknell University, a board member for the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, and a member of the Wilmot Cancer Center’s Advancement Committee.
