Amy J. Kellogg Named Government Affairs Practice Group Leader

Kellogg Amy 2019 ALB 6013 HRHarter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy J. Kellogg to practice group leader of the firm’s Government Affairs practice.

Kellogg’s Government Affairs practice focuses on representing a variety of New York State professional associations, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations before New York State government, including the New York State Legislature, the Governor’s Office, and state agencies. She monitors, analyzes, and reports on the status of pending legislation, advises clients regarding myriad government relations compliance issues, communicates clients’ positions to members of New York State government and state agencies, drafts legislation on behalf of clients, and assists clients with strategy regarding government funding mechanisms and programs.

The firm’s Government Affairs team advocates for the introduction of bills, tracks the progress of proposed legislation and regulations, and lobbies to secure or modify legislation and administrative action on behalf of clients. In addition, they advise on the availability of, and access to, a variety of government funding mechanisms and other programs, and work with clients to ensure the strictest compliance with all applicable laws.

Kellogg earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Potsdam, and is a cum laude graduate of Albany Law School. She currently serves as Vice President of the Potsdam College Foundation Board of Trustees, Secretary of the Albany Law School Government Law Center Advisory Board, Board Member for the National Association of State Lobbyists, and a member and immediate past chair of the Government Affairs Practice Committee for the American Bar Association Business Law Section.  She received the Distinguished Service Award in 2016 from SUNY Potsdam and the 2018 Donald D. DeAngelis ’60 Excellence in Alumni Service Award from Albany Law School.
