Albany, New York, March 5, 2025 – Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, announced that Caitlin A. Anderson, an associate in the firm’s Government Affairs practice, has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the Empire Justice Center.
The Empire Justice Center is a statewide, non-profit law firm dedicated to changing the law for all New Yorkers, especially those who need its protection most. Through a 360-degree approach that includes litigation, education, and policy advocacy, the organization uses the law to make access to justice more equitable. Since 1973, Empire Justice has helped protect and strengthen the rights of millions of New Yorkers.
Anderson counsels clients on the nuances of New York State government, including lobbying and liaising with the Governor’s office for clarification on legislation, regulatory actions, and executive orders. She develops short-term and long-term legislative plans, drafts and arranges for the introduction of bills, advocates to secure or modify legislation and administrative action on behalf of clients and represents clients through dealings with state agencies—from negotiating regulations to defending clients in administrative hearings. She was named to the City & State 2024 40 Under 40 List and “Who’s Who in Government Relations” list and selected to the Upstate New York Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2023 and 2024.
Anderson received a J.D., summa cum laude, from The William & Mary Law School, and a B.S., summa cum laude, from Elmira College.
