Paul Greene, CIPP/US, has earned the ANSI/ISO-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional in European Data Protection Law (CIPP/E) credential from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Greene is currently the only attorney in private practice in Upstate New York to hold the U.S. and European CIPP credentials and be recognized as a Ponemon Institute Distinguished Fellow.
The CIPP/E certification demonstrates an understanding of a principles-based framework and knowledge base in information privacy within the European context, including pan-European and national data protection laws, key privacy terminology and practical concepts concerning the protection of personal data and trans-border data flows, and critical topics like the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield and GDPR (including Mandatory DPOs).
Greene previously earned the CIPP/US credential, which demonstrates a mastery of the principles of data privacy laws and regulations within the U.S. context. He represents clients of all sizes in a wide range of industries concerning all aspects of proactive preparation and risk management, including security and vulnerability assessments, policy and procedure review, breach response planning and drills, as well as board and management education on cyber risk and privacy issues.
