Frank A. Novak Named Attorney of the Year by The Daily Record

Novak, a partner and leader of the firm’s Immigration practice group, has been selected to receive a 2018 Attorney of the Year Award by The Daily Record. He is one of 14 members of the Rochester legal community to be recognized for their outstanding work this year.

Novak was selected in the Leaders in Law category, which honors attorneys who have shown dedication to the legal profession and selfless, tireless commitment to the community.

Highly regarded as an experienced and tenacious attorney, Novak focuses his employment-based immigration practice on a range of areas, including multinational companies, health care, high-tech, biotechnology, energy, higher education, and cultural institutions. He has been recognized in Chambers USA 2018 America’s Leading Lawyers in Business for Immigration, selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© 2019 in the area of Immigration Law, and he has been selected to the Upstate New York Super Lawyers® list each year since 2012.

Aside from his legal practice, Novak commits countless time and energy to community and professional causes. He is a member of the board of trustees at the Geva Theatre Center, and was co-chair of the 2018 Spring Dinner for the Western New York Human Rights Campaign, part of a national LGBT civil rights organization. He is also a board member and past president of the Volunteer Legal Services Project, which helps to ensure equal access to justice for all members of the community. Novak is a recipient of the New York State Bar Association President’s Pro Bono Service Attorney Award, which was given in recognition of his work obtaining lawful status for a foreign national and her two sons.

Throughout his career, Novak has also been extensively involved with the American Immigration Lawyers Association, formerly serving on the organization’s board of governors, as chair of the national Health Care Professionals Committee, as a member of the Vermont Service Center Liaison Committee, and as chair of the Upstate New York Chapter.
