Glenn R. Schieck Appointed to JustCause Board of Directors

Rochester, New York, May 12, 2023 – Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, announced that Glenn R. Schieck, a partner in the firm’s Immigration practice, has been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of JustCause.

JustCause provides free legal assistance to people who cannot afford an attorney when facing serious civil legal problems. Established in 1981, JustCause’s staff coordinates the work of more than 1,500 volunteers who donate their time and talent to ensure that everyone in Monroe County has access to the justice system. JustCause staff and volunteers help over 10,000 people annually with a wide range of legal matters, including housing, immigration, child support or custody, domestic violence divorce, unemployment, wills and powers of attorney, and other serious civil legal problems.

In his practice, Schieck works with a wide variety of clients, including multinational corporations, small businesses, universities, professional sports teams, and health care institutions in seeking immigrant and nonimmigrant status for employees in diverse fields and specialties. He has experience in all aspects of employment-based immigration law, as well as experience with complex litigation and appeals before federal and administrative courts, including the Board of Alien Labor Certification Appeals of the Department of Labor (BALCA) and the Administrative Appeals Office of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (AAO).

Schieck received a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, magna cum laude, and a B.S., in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
