Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, announced that Kristie Ball has been promoted to Director of Accounting and Controller, and Christopher M. LoTempio has been hired as Manager of Financial Analysis.
Formerly the firm’s Assistant Controller, Ball joined Harter Secrest & Emery in 2013 and manages the daily operations related to the firm’s accounting, billing and matter intake and management, and has full oversight of the firm’s time and billing software. A Certified Public Accountant, she is the primary contact for external auditors for Harter Secrest & Emery’s annual financial statement and benefits audits, and analyzes financial reports to assist in achieving profit goals and objectives.
Ball received the Forty Under 40 Award from the Rochester Business Journal in 2015, in recognition of her professional accomplishments and community involvement. She is a former board Treasurer for Eagle Star Housing and former Adult Care Board Member and Audit and Investment Committee Member for DePaul. Ball earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University.
In his role, LoTempio is responsible for a variety of accounting, financial, and operational functions within the firm. He sources, compiles and interprets key business, financial, operational and statistical data, and analyzes performance metrics to provide recommendations to firm management and partners for improving overall financial performance.
A Certified Public Accountant, LoTempio was most recently a Business Analyst with the Dolomite Group, and previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the largest professional services firms in the world. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo, and received a master’s degree in Accounting from Binghamton University.
