Rochester, New York, April 12, 2023 – Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, has awarded two scholarships to first-year law school students (1L), Yubin “Lucy” Oh and Nathanael Sniatecki, as part of the firm’s annual Diversity Scholarship Program. The scholarships, which have been awarded annually to outstanding law students since 2005, include a $7,500 award for tuition and a paid summer associate position in the firm’s Rochester or Buffalo, New York offices.

Oh, a student at Cornell Law School, is the recipient of the Charles Evans Hughes Scholarship. While pursuing an undergraduate degree, Oh was a research assistant with the University of Rochester Medical Center, an associate justice with the All-Campus Judicial Council, and a legal intern with the Monroe County Public Defender’s Office. She earned a B.A., cum laude, in Political Science from the University of Rochester in 2021.
Sniatecki is attending Seton Hall School of Law where he is a recipient of a Distinguished Scholar Award (full-tuition, merit based) and is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Society. He currently serves as an advocate for the Courtroom Advocates Project, and worked as a legal intern for Ganguly Brothers, PLLC in Rochester in 2022. Sniatecki earned a B.A. in History, summa cum, in 2021 from Nazareth College, where he received two Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships (merit based).
Since 2005, Harter Secrest & Emery has awarded a scholarship annually to first-year law students based on their academic record, work experience, and additional personal and professional attributes that demonstrate great promise for a successful career in the legal profession. Several scholarship winners have joined Harter Secrest & Emery after completing law school.
