Harter Secrest & Emery Opens New Buffalo Office

Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, has officially relocated its Buffalo office. As of this week, the firm’s attorneys and professional staff are now practicing from the new office, located on the 10th floor at 50 Fountain Plaza in downtown Buffalo.

The 15,000-square-foot office was completely remodeled to create both a stunning physical environment and multi-faceted professional space that enriches the client experience and fosters interaction among attorneys, staff and clients. The new location will also accommodate additional growth for the 26-attorney office.

“We wanted a space that simultaneously reflected our firm’s culture, allowed us to consistently meet the demands and expectations of our clients, and met our business needs and vision for growth in Buffalo,” said John G. Horn, partner in charge of the firm’s Buffalo office. “We were able to meet all of those key requirements in one of downtown Buffalo’s premier business venues.”

According to Horn, the firm began exploring its needs and space options more than two years ago and looked at several potential locations. For nearly 13 years, the firm had occupied the 4th floor at Twelve Fountain Plaza. The office move matches Harter Secrest & Emery’s growth arc in Buffalo over the past 20 years. The firm launched its Buffalo office in 1995 with three attorneys. Today, Harter Secrest & Emery’s Buffalo attorneys provide a full range of corporate legal services to a long list of local, regional, national and international clients.

Horn believes that the ongoing business and economic renaissance taking place in Buffalo creates additional strategic opportunities for the firm to continue to grow. In just the past few years, Harter Secrest & Emery has launched new practice groups focused on emerging economic sectors and business challenges, such as privacy and data security, the alcohol beverage industry, and government and internal investigations, to name just a few.

“Beyond the physical growth and development taking shape in Buffalo and Western New York, we are seeing substantial intellectual growth and investment, from innovations at the medical campus, a burgeoning entrepreneurial culture, international investment and interest, and businesses from within the community and outside the region showing confidence in Buffalo like never before,” Horn observed. “At the same time, all businesses, regardless of location and industry, are facing a fast-changing and challenging business landscape. We want to be strategically positioned in our practice offerings to meet the needs of clients, local and nationally. And we’re proud to have great new space to do that in a whole new way.”
