Rochester, New York, November 25, 2024—For the second consecutive year, Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, has achieved Mansfield Certification, an industry-leading certification program focused on law firm inclusivity best practices.

Mansfield is a year-long structured certification process designed to ensure all qualified talent at participating law firms have a fair and equal opportunity to be considered for advancement into leadership roles. The focus is on “opening the door wider” and ensuring that opportunities for advancement are transparent and inclusive for everyone. Harter Secrest & Emery is among more than 360 leading law firms that participated in this year’s Mansfield Certification process.

“Harter Secrest & Emery is dedicated to fundamental fairness and meaningful access in our hiring, retention, and promotion practices,” said John G. Horn, Harter Secrest & Emery Inclusion & Equity Committee Chair. “We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for every HSE professional and to ensuring that principles of equity, inclusion, diversity, and belonging are foundational to the way we serve clients and practice law.”

Now in its eighth year, Mansfield’s data and methodology shows that the firms that remain committed and accountable to the Mansfield Certification process year-over-year are making substantial progress in creating inclusive talent practices and expanding their leadership ranks. This helps law firms continue to take measurable actions to guarantee that processes are – and stay – inclusive.
