HSE Promotes Three Attorneys

Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, is pleased to announce the promotion of three attorneys: Lindsey N. Bober to Senior Associate, Chloe J. Macdonald to Senior Associate, and Laura K. Schwalbe to Counsel.

Bober (Rochester, New York) is a member of the Labor and Employment and Higher Education practice groups. She counsels clients in all aspects of labor and employment law, including employment policies, criminal background checks, protected leaves of absences, reasonable accommodations, discipline and termination decisions, contract review, wage and hour issues, and labor relations. As a fully trained civil rights investigator, Bober advises institutions of higher education and private employers on investigating and responding to complaints of discrimination and harassment. She serves on the Board of Directors for The Legal Aid Society of Rochester. Bober earned a J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, and a B.S. from Cornell University.

Macdonald (Buffalo, New York) is a member of the Labor and Employment practice group. She counsels clients in a variety of areas, including the development of employee policies, wage and hour issues, discipline and termination decisions, discrimination and harassment claims, and employment contract disputes. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for Mount St. Mary Academy, and the Board of Directors for the Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP), Rising Champions for Justice. Macdonald earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from University at Buffalo School of Law, and a B.A., summa cum laude, from SUNY Brockport.

Schwalbe (Buffalo, New York) is a member of the Government and Internal Investigations group and the Privacy and Data Security team. She represents clients when responding to investigations, audits, and examinations by agencies including the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities & Exchange Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the U.S. Department of Education, as well as by various state Attorneys General.

As a member of the Privacy and Data Security team, Schwalbe is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (U.S. and Europe) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. She helps clients comply with the ever-shifting privacy landscape and regularly consults on topics related to state, federal, and international privacy regimes. She also counsels clients concerning all aspects of pre-breach preparation and risk management and, in the event of a cyber incident, provides breach coach and response services. Schwalbe serves on the Board of Directors for WNY Heroes, Inc. She earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and a B.A. from Boston University.
