Matthew A. Eldred Appointed to Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development Board of Directors

Rochester, New York, May 16, 2024 – Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, announced that Matthew A. Eldred, a senior associate in the firm’s Environmental, Land Use and Zoning practice, has been elected to serve on the Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development Board of Directors.

The Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development is a public private economic development organization in Schuyler County, New York, that works with businesses and public partners to utilize innovative ideas and initiatives to promote the formation, retention, expansion, and attraction of target businesses in the area. They provide many services including site selection, financial assistance, connections to critical resources, entrepreneurial support, business continuance advisement, grant writing and management, small business loans, and business transition support. Over the past eight years, the organization was instrumental in attracting over $200 million in public and private investment, including a $10 million DRI award.

In his practice, Eldred takes a comprehensive approach to advising clients on a diverse array of energy, environmental, land use, and zoning issues. He conducts environmental due diligence for corporate and real estate transactions, advises clients on the permitting processes, ensures compliance with environmental regulations and health and safety standards, and addresses the legal aspects of land use, zoning regulations, and matters related to the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), each with a special focus on renewable energy development.

Eldred received a J.D. from University at Buffalo School of Law, magna cum laude, and a B.S., from SUNY Alfred, magna cum laude.
