Kristian is a member of the firm’s Government and Internal Investigations practice group, where she represents organizations and individuals. She has a strong background working with health care organizations, including hospitals. Beyond criminal and regulatory work, Kristian often works on civil fraud matters, including those arising under state and federal False Claims Acts. Kristian is particularly well suited for investigations, having received a master’s degree in forensic science.

Kristian draws on her experience handling criminal defense proceedings, working on internal investigations, and conducting litigation. She has experience with both core investigations skills, such as interviewing witnesses, and the nuts and bolts of criminal and civil litigation, including court appearances, arraignments, discovery, and motion practice.

Kristian also has a passion for justice and pro bono work―throughout law school, she managed hundreds of law student volunteers on an initiative aimed at reopening civil rights cold case files.

Before joining HSE, Kristian assisted the FBI legal and criminal investigations departments in conducting internal investigations, as an honors intern with the FBI in Washington, D.C., defended and counseled individual clients in criminal proceedings in state court, and analyzed health care legal issues as a legal intern at a national health care system and insurer.
