Daniel J. Altieri

Partner

Dan takes a business-oriented approach to his legal practice. He begins each engagement by taking a moment to understand the client: who they are, what is important to them, and what their goals are. This enables him to provide practical solutions customized to fit the client’s needs. He prides himself on his responsiveness, hands-on work style, and his ability to jump into the conversation to quickly understand all the pieces of the puzzle and how they fit together.

Privacy and Data Security
As an integral part of HSE’s established privacy and data security team, Dan quickly identifies potential legal issues pertaining to security and works closely with clients to address them in an efficient manner. In education, healthcare, retail, manufacturing and other industries, Dan provides guidance on best practices to avoid a data breach, regulatory compliance and risk assessments, post-incident response, due diligence in acquisitions, potential litigation, or regulatory action, and more.

Litigation
Dan advises clients on all aspects of commercial litigation from pretrial matters through trial and appeal. He has tried several cases to verdict and successfully argued before the Supreme Court of the State of New York Appellate Division. Clients trust Dan to resolve disputes swiftly—both in and out of the courtroom—to achieve their business and legal objectives.
