Kristian has experience in criminal and civil litigation, internal investigations, fact gathering, overseeing and coordinating responses to government requests, drafting memoranda, performing legal research and drafting transactional and governance documents. She also advises corporate and not-for-profit clients on issues relating to formation, ownership, and operation. Kristian concentrates her law practice primarily in two areas:

Government and Internal Investigations
Kristian helps clients respond to investigations, audits, and examinations by agencies including the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities & Exchange Commission and various state Attorney Generals. She often works on civil fraud matters, including those arising under state and federal False Claims Acts, and advises clients on government and internal or independent investigations.

Health Care
Kristian also provides counsel to hospitals, health care providers, facilities, and organizations in connection with operational, compliance and governance matters, including corporate compliance, the implementation of internal compliance programs, and patient-related issues.

Before joining HSE, Kristian worked in commercial litigation at Webster Szanyi LLP. She also assisted the FBI legal and criminal investigations departments in conducting internal investigations, as an honors intern with the FBI in Washington, D.C., defended and counseled individual clients in criminal proceedings in state court, and analyzed healthcare legal issues as a legal intern at a national health care system and insurer.
