Harter Secrest & Emery Welcomes Four New Attorneys

Harter Secrest & Emery LLP, a full-service business law firm with offices throughout New York, announced that four new attorneys have recently joined the firm.

Geoffrey W. Alden is an associate in the Private Equity and Venture Capital practice group in the firm’s Rochester office where he performs due diligence reviews, prepares legal documents, and conducts legal research and analysis. While in law school, Alden was an intern at the United States Attorney’s Office, Civil Division, in Boston, MA, where he researched and wrote memoranda and motions and prepared attorneys for oral arguments. He also served as a judicial intern at the Federal District Court of Eastern Michigan. He earned his B.A. from the State University of New York at Geneseo and his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.

Sarah M. Grimaldi is an associate in the Intellectual Property practice group in the firm’s Buffalo office. Grimaldi performs due diligence reviews, prepares legal documents, and conducts legal research and analysis. She has experience preparing patent applications in the chemistry, medical devices, biotech, biochemistry, and mechanical devices industries and drafting official responses to USPTO Office Actions. Grimaldi earned her B.A. from the University at Buffalo, her M.S. in Chemistry from the University at Buffalo, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University at Buffalo School of Law.

Mary C. Hamilton has joined the firm as an associate in the Securities and Capital Markets practice group in the firm’s Buffalo office. She conducts due diligence, legal research and analysis; prepares and reviews securities law filings; and drafts contracts and other agreements. While attending law school, Hamilton was an intern at the Center for Elder Law and Justice, where she conducted research on complex legal issues, drafted memoranda, participated in client visits, and developed case strategies with attorneys in the health care and guardianship units. Hamilton earned a B.S., cum laude, from Cornell University and her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University at Buffalo School of Law.

Autumn J. Young is an associate in the Health Care practice group in the firm’s Rochester office. Her experience includes performing due diligence reviews, preparing legal documents, and conducting legal research and analysis. While in law school, Young was an intern at the Office of the New York State Inspector General in Albany, NY, where she performed legal research relevant to current investigations, drafted legal memoranda and case activity reports, and organized evidence for ongoing investigations. Young earned her B.A. from the State University of New York at Geneseo and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Albany Law School.
