Schwalbe, a senior associate in the firm’s Privacy and Data Security practice, received the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She previously earned the CIPP/US credential in 2020.
CIPP is the global industry standard for professionals entering and working in the field of privacy. Backed by ANSI/ISO accreditation, the CIPP/E certification demonstrates an understanding of a principles-based framework and knowledge base in information privacy within the European context, including pan-European and national data protection laws, key privacy terminology and practical concepts concerning the protection of personal data and trans-border data flows, and critical topics like GDPR and other applicable regulations.
Schwalbe is the second Harter Secrest & Emery attorney to earn both CIPP distinguished credentials (CIPP/US and CIPP/E). F. Paul Greene, head of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security practice group, received his European credentials in addition to his US credentials in 2020. Schwalbe’s certification means Harter Secrest & Emery now holds the most Information Privacy credentials in the Rochester and Buffalo regions.
