Jeff Bowen retired from HSE on December 31, 2013 after a 33-year career spent entirely at HSE, including a stint as a summer clerk during the summer of 1979. During his tenure, Jeff practiced general corporate law with a specialized focus on securities regulation, private and public debt and equity financings and M&A transactions. He also was experienced in matters of corporate governance and not-for-profit entities.
Jeff was also active in matters of firm governance throughout his career having served on the Management Committee, as Business Unit Manager, as Hiring Partner and during his final years with the firm as one its Loss Prevention Counsel. He also served on the Opinion Committee, the Hiring Committee and the Diversity Committee during various stages of
his career.
Outside the practice of law, Jeff devoted time to the service of many of the regions not-for-profit organizations, as a member of their Boards of Directors, various committees and acting in several officer capacities. After his retirement, Jeff continues to be active in the not-for-profit arena.
Jeff was regularly recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® for Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, Securities Capital Markets Law and Securities Regulation, having been named by Best Lawyers as 2011 Rochester, New York’s Lawyer of the Year for Corporate Law and in Super Lawyers® for Securities and Corporate Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Governance and Compliance.
Today, Jeff enjoys his retirement by spending time with family, traveling, reading and playing an occasional round of golf.
