The CIPP is the global industry standard for professionals entering and working in the field of privacy. Backed by ANSI/ISO accreditation, the CIPP/US credential demonstrates a strong understanding of a principles-based framework and knowledge base in information privacy within the U.S. context.
Schwalbe is the second HSE attorney to earn this distinguished credential. F. Paul Greene, head of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security practice group received the CIPP/US designation in 2019.
Schwalbe is a data security breach coach and represents clients in complex litigation and investigations. Her experience includes helping clients respond to cyber incidents, data security due diligence for M&A transactions, and counseling on EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) obligations. She also helps clients conduct internal investigations and respond to investigations, audits, and examinations by government agencies including the U.S. Department of Justice, the SEC, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and various state Attorneys General.
Schwalbe graduated from Boston University, and is a magna cum laude graduate of the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.
